Fall 2018 Learn 2 Curl

We recommend you arrive about 15 minutes before the session to check in, prepare your equipment and meet your fabulous instructors.

The ice house temperature is about 40 degrees. Bring a light jacket or sweater, hat and mittens. Wear warm socks and bring clean comfortable shoes such as light weight hiking or tennis shoes.

Once your gear is ready we’ll introduce you to curling ice. You’ll get a feel for the ice surface and we’ll show you how to deliver a stone, the ins and outs of sweeping, scoring and strategy. These are a few of the many aspects that make curling fun and great exercise.

After the introduction of the basics, we’ll divide into teams and scrimmage against the other participants in the “Learn 2 Curl” session.

After the game, you’ll be ready for another great curling tradition, Broomstacking! This post game camaraderie is an important part of the game at our club. You’ll visit for a while and tell war stories while we give you information on joining the Green Bay Curling Club.

Come down and be introduced to this fantastic winter sport!  Start here to reserve your spot today.

Lessons are designed for ages 12 & up.  Families are encouraged to learn together but children younger than 12 are most often too small to manage the 42 lbs stones.
The ice house is about 40 degrees.  Please plan accordingly and wear warm, loose fitting clothing as you will need to stretch while delivering the stone.  Bring light weight gloves and hats.
